I had my first Erasmus+ Staff Mobility experience by participating in the "Problem Solving & Decision Making" training held in the city of Palermo, Sicily in 2022. It was a classroom education that provided the structure, process, and necessary tools for individuals to solve problems and make appropriate decisions. Among the participants of the training were 20 colleagues from Spain, Poland, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Slovenia.
The training, which lasted for 5 days between 9:00 and 13:30, implemented an interactive teaching method. After a brief explanation of the topics, the lessons were conducted in the form of in-class activities, exercises, and discussions.

Through case studies in this course that guided participants to use analysis, synthesis, and positive questioning to address individual and organizational problems, participants had the opportunity to explore successful models and proven methods that could be valuable not only for their jobs and organizations but also for their daily lives.
Our instructor had extensive experience in organizational processes. During the training, I gained knowledge in both problem solving and decision making, as well as methods related to organizing in-class activities, fostering camaraderie among class members, and encouraging participation in the lessons. The interactive nature of the lessons and high participation in the class also allowed me to learn about the difficulties my fellow colleagues faced, perspectives on education practices in different countries, student issues, and potential solutions. Additionally, we had ample opportunity for discussions during breaks.

At the end of the training, all participants shared their contact information with each other to meet again. We initiated a collaboration with a participant who is an instructor in the Computer Science Department at "Universidad Francisco de Vitoria" in Spain for the mutual "Erasmus + Teaching" program. The approval of our request by our universities was another positive outcome of this training.
During this training, I had the opportunity to visit Palermo and Cefalu and watch an opera at Teatro Massimo. I highly recommend this training and Erasmus+ staff training programs to all educators.
